Jean M. Holden, 95, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Tuesday, April 7, our loving, caring and courageous mother went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior.
Born Jean Boettcher on August 4, 1919 she was the only child of Ed and Stella Boettcher form Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. She attended local schools and later graduated from Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin where she met the love of her life Douglas Holden. They were married on June 28, 1941 and to this union 4 children were born. Judy Tesch of Joplin, MO; James Holden of Challis, ID; Pat Blase/Schwarze or Watertown, WI; and Dana Parker of Benton, AR.
Mom and Dad moved from Wisconsin and retired in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas in 1983. Both were avid golfers and active members of Christ Lutheran Church. Mom was recognized for knitting hundreds of baby caps for local hospitals. She loved traveling with dad, reading, playing bridge and spending time with family and her two beloved cats “Emily and Tater.”
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Doug, two sons-in-laws Otto Blasé and Robert Tesch and her parents. She is survived by her 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on April 13, 2015 at 2:00pm at Christ Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village with visitation at 1:00pm. Interment will be at CedarVale Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Christ Lutheran Radio Ministries.
